about

Wax "the president of indie rock" Mannequin is a one-man band with presence both live and on wax, whose bombastic and irreverent musical antics and influences are varied. Nods to Ween, Tom Waits, Frank Zappa, Colm Wilkinson and other iconoclasts show up in many aspects of this well-crafted album. The result is a highly memorable and original sound that possesses a bizarre classiness. He's been at it for a minute, and has toured Canada. The album's highlight could be Fuck Up The Night, an expansive tale of birds eating bees, with some of the most beautifully sung meows imaginable.

about

Wax Mannequin Hamilton, Ontario

Adeney's music veers from scrappy prog oddness and distressed folk to absurdist stadium metal, all with a dark humour that borders on outright Dadaism.
Beneath the unsettling imagery and musical left turns there is a steady questioning of life’s inherent strangeness and his own neuro-divergent experience.
He has appeared on thousands of pub, gallery and festival stages worldwide.
